Swing Trading
Short term positions in the futures and FOREX markets that typically last from 3 to 21 days. Swing traders attempt to profit from swings in the markets. A successful swing trader knows how to identify a "turn" in the market. At CTG we use 20 minute charts configured with our proprietary CTG Bar Trend Paint Bars and a 200 Exponential Moving Average to identify turns. The moving average is our guide to stop loss management. The charts below illustrate two examples of a classic swing trade. We use the techniques illustrated below to establish and manage our trades.
