  LT Trend Paint Bars on a 60 minute April Gold chart.  When the colour shifts from Red to Blue a change of trend is suggested.  Unlike many paint bar studies based on moving averages, CTG Futures LT Paint Bar generally retains its colour until there is clear evidence of a change of trend and momentum.  This paint bar is a valuable tool for real time charts.  It is equally effective for both minute and ticks bars.  Further down the page is an example of the paint bar in tandem with CTG Futures T3 Paint Bars.  Further still is an example of LT Trend Paint Bars on a 2 minute May Wheat chart.

  LT Trend Paint Bars in combination with T3 Bars on a 60 minute April Gold chart.  On the bottom data stream the shift from Red to Blue alerts a change in direction.  On the upper stream the trade is initiated after a shift from yellow to blue (note the cyan up arrow).  We have the confidence to stay with the long position as long as the LT Paint Bars on the lower stream remain blue.  The Red horizontal lines represent sliding stop/ loss orders, moving higher to protect profit as the trade proceeds. Note how they are placed just under the lows of the yellow T3 bars.

    LT Trend Paint Bars are applied to a 2 minute May Wheat chart.  Note the shift from Blue to Red suggesting a change in the short term trend for wheat.  Even this volatile commodity can be traded using CTG Futures LT Trend Paint Bars.  On short term charts it can be used as a stand alone system for day/swing trading.
